Placing Holds for Library Materials
HOW TO LOG IN TO YOUR DESTINY ACCOUNT
Note: From now on, the default interface for the Parkway Catalog will be Destiny Discover, which is slightly different than what we have used in the past. I hope that it is more intuitive for you but if you are used to using the old site, it will take some getting used to.
- Visit watauga.follettdestiny.com
- Select Parkway from the list of schools
- Click “Log In” in the top right corner
- Click the blue bar labeled “NCedCloud (IAM)”
- Log in using your NCedCloud info
- Username: Student ID
- Password: Watauga + Grade Number (for example 5th grade uses Watauga5)
HOW TO PUT A BOOK ON HOLD
After logging in:
- Search for books using the find bar.
- Click on the book you want.
- Click HOLD. If you didn't mean to click hold, you can click UNHOLD where the HOLD button was.
- Now the book is on hold for you!
- Pick up the book from the library between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
HOW TO RETURN YOUR BOOKS
Books can be returned any time during the school week between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. We also have a BOOK DROPBOX at the front of the school. You can bring your books back at any time, day or night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Place your books in the dropbox and they will be checked in shortly after.
RULES TO REMEMBER
- You can check out 6 books at a time.
- You can have 6 books on hold at a time.
If you have reached your checkout limit, the books you have on hold will not be checked out to you until you return some. - Books will be marked OVERDUE after 3 weeks. 3 weeks after that, they will be marked as LOST. Once a book is lost, you will either have to return it or pay for it. You will not be charged overdue fees, just the price of the book itself.
- TAKE CARE OF YOUR BOOKS. Other students want to read them so make sure they come back in the same condition you borrowed them in. If a book is ruined while checked out to you, you may have to pay to replace it.
